1. Thermometers mesure the thermal energy of molecules in the atmosphere.
2. Fahrenheit and celsius both have negative numbers, kelvin doesn't. Kelvin also is not measured in degrees and stops at absolute zero. There is also 80 numbers between the freezing and boiling points of kelvin and celsius but they have very different zeroes.
